Rick McCloskey Honored

Wilsonville, Ore., May 16, 2008—The Portland Business Journal today announced the finalists and winners of it‘s annual CFO of the Year awards. Technocom‘s (http://www.gotechnocom.com) CEO/CFO Rick McCloskey was honored as one of three finalists in the small private company division.

In April 2001, Rick and partners started Insight Development Group LLC, an angel investment entity company, which quickly became involved in twelve start-up businesses. In 2003, Mr. McCloskey accepted the task of combining four undercapitalized local companies, three from the state of Oregon and one from Washington, into one corporate entity called Technocom, Inc.

Without equity, the first goal was to create a company that could survive the then downturn in the technology and telecommunications marketplace, then transition the company into becoming the premier regional technology service provider for both commercial businesses and residential homeowners. This first aggressive goal needed to be accomplished while building shareholder equity.

It has been Mr. McCloskey‘s guidance in managing growth in order to produce cash flow that allowed the new Technocom brand to move out of survival mode to financial stability in the last 4 years; all accomplished without any forced company layoffs. A defining change in business strategy was to move away from a primary focus on large installations to a model based on customer service and managing base customer needs, no matter how large or small.

Mr. McCloskey is passionate about building a business that is corporately based in Oregon and creates excellent jobs for people who want to live in the state and provide solutions and service to customers in the Pacific Northwest.

Mr. McCloskey is committed to supporting his community. He has shown support across a wide variety of areas, but has significantly supported children and those community members less fortunate. His personal and professional philanthropy is based on his true belief of giving back. Mr. McCloskey has also maintained an ongoing relationship with the University of Oregon business school‘s entrepreneurship program. The program creates networking opportunities for business students with the goal of keeping bright minds within the state and assists in areas of small business growth. In 2007, Technocom was listed among Oregon‘s top Philanthropic Companies.

Mr. McCloskey is always searching for methods of leadership that will assist either himself or his management team. He believes that by building a company where employees care about each other, their community, and their customers, that the company will demonstrate true wealth.

Rick serves as a Board Member of the Brian Henninger Children‘s Charity Foundation, Board Member and Director for Pacific West Bank, and is Chairman of the Golf Course Committee for the Oregon Golf Club.
