Technocom Benefits from Outstanding Safety Record

Wilsonville, Ore., October 31, 2007– At the annual October 1 renewal, Technocom Inc.  (http://www.gotechnocom.com) reported a yearly Worker’s Compensation Experience Modification rate (Mod) of 0.77 against an industry average of 1.0.  It is the fifth straight year the company demonstrated a truly outstanding safety record.  The company has averaged just under a 0.75 Mod rate for the past five years.  In addition this year, Technocom claimed a phenomenal 2.8% loss ratio. 
         
As part of the Oregon Contractors Classification Premium Adjustment Program (OCCPAP), Technocom received a substantial credit due to its safety record.

The successful safety rating is undoubtedly due, in part, to Technocom’s award-winning safety program that is the culmination of an ongoing company commitment to safety.  The program includes training programs, hazard assessments, thorough after-incident investigation, ongoing safety audits and corrective action programs. 

This past year, Technocom was awarded the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Safety Training and Evaluation Program (STEP) award. In recognition of its ongoing efforts in the development of a quality safety program, Technocom was awarded the Silver Level of achievement.

STEP is a self-evaluation process that is intended to help construction companies achieve the highest safety levels possible. At Technocom, safety comes first. The company holds safety committee meetings once a month and provides weekly safety meetings and first-aid classes to all employees. Over 60% of all Technocom employees have their first-aid/CPR card presently and the goal is to increase that percentage.
