Your Single Source Communications Provider
That’s one of Technocom’s tag lines. But what does it mean?
There are certain technologies common to most businesses. Phones and computers are used by all. To function, these systems require voice and data cabling and other network infrastructure. Carrier Services (dial tone and internet connections) are also required. Most businesses have security or access control systems. Many use Closed Circuit TV (CCTV). With equipment costs dropping, and the ability to connect cameras to the Local Area Network, more businesses are installing IP (Internet Protocol) video surveillance. Many are also upgrading their legacy phone systems to IP voice platforms.
Some companies have installed video conferencing systems. These products are becoming less expensive and easier to use, making them more viable for small and medium size businesses. Wireless networks are being installed within buildings and across campus environments. Some companies use overhead paging systems. Some install audio systems for music or provide television in waiting rooms and visitor areas.

Identity Theft
Criminals are opportunists. They strike whenever they see an opening. Although we often think a location may be safe, no place is immune from criminal activity. And if the crime includes the theft of a credit card or other personally identifiable information, you may be in for a long and expensive nightmare.
One of our customers recently had a wallet stolen. http://youtu.be/2UX1MULgrVA Becasue they had installed a UGuardU video surveillance system, the owner was able to quickly provide images to the police, and notify the Social Security Administration, credit card companies, national credit bureaus, and other authorities. This prompt action prevented further damage from being done.
This is a valuable lesson. There are preventative steps that you can take to protect your personal identity, and important steps to take if theft occurs.
