Football is a very popular sport in our work place. Scores, games, standings, and stats are all frequent topics of discussion. But there is an aspect of the game that is seldom talked about: traumatic head injuries. Football players are at the most risk. Consider these stats:

At least one player sustains a mild concussion in nearly every US football game. In high school games, there are approximately 67,000 diagnosed concussions every year. In July 2007, The American Journal of Sports Medicine reported that more brain injuries occur in football than any other sport.

Stone Phillips, the highly regarded NBC news correspondent, has recently launched a web site on this topic. It is a subject he understands well, having himself suffered from concussions received as a high school and college football player. Mr. Phillips, a customer of Technocom’s UGuardU video surveillance system, has asked to help him get the word out.

Please join Technocom, UGuardU and Stone Phillips in elevating awareness of this issue. Visit his web site at http://stonephillipsreports.com to learn more. There you will find information, videos and links to support research. We encourage our friends and customers to “Like” this web site, follow along, and become part of the conversation.

Let’s encourage and support youth sports programs, but let’s keep the players safe too.

When Technocom began developing UGuardU several years ago, there were not many IP camera management systems on the market. Today there is a great deal of competition. This is also true of digital security cameras. From Costco to online resources to security companies, there are hundreds of options to choose from.

So what sets UGuardU apart?

UGuardU provides live video feeds using any standard internet browser compatible with motion JPG, such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Apple Safari. Cameras can be monitored from anywhere an internet connection is available, and camera sets can be easily viewed in one window. Cameras can also be accessed from most smart phones.

For installations requiring four or fewer cameras, UGuardU can provide video hosting. There are a variery of storage plans available, starting as low as $10 per month. For larger installations, the UGuardU VRS server is available. It uses a secured Linux operating system, and no additional software is required. The small form factor uses fewer materials and weighs less then most tower or rack systems, reducing carbon footprint. The Intel Atom chip provides fast processing with less energy consumption.

UGuardU software enables replay, including instant replay, of stored video images. Data can be archived and kept on removable media and USB drives, providing a simple and inexpensive way to store data off site for added protection.

UGuardU is compatible with cameras from most major manufacturers, including Axis, Sony, JVC, Panasonic, and D-Link. So you can likely keep your existing digital cameras, get rid of your old VCR or DVR, and upgrade to the UGuardU system for video data storage. Digital converters are also available for analog cameras. If you need new equipment, a wide variety of IP cameras are available, including HD, motion detection, pan/zoom/tilt, outdoor, and night cameras.

UguardU is available through our Amazon store www.uguardu.amazonwebstore.com as a turnkey system. Open architecture and flexible engineering also allow us to build a customized solution to meet the needs of specific applications. Visit our web site at www.uguardu.com to learn more and view live demo cameras, or call us at 503.454.7321.

A surveillance system is an effective way to supplement protection of your home and assets. Digital video cameras can capture high quality images of intruders, providing investigators with pictures and proscutors with evidence after a crime has occurred. These watchful eyes can monitor entryways, rooms and grounds. Technology advances have made equipment affordable and easy to use, enabling families to install systems in their homes for greater personal protection. Some insurance companies allow addtional discounts on howeowner policies when video surveillance systems are installed.

Technocom’s UGuardU home surveillance system allows you to: See who is at a door, window or entryway; Receive alerts via smart phone when an intrusion takes place; Access cameras and keep watch remotely via the internet; Identify someone as a trespasser and notify authorities; Keep tabs on children, elderly family members and home employees; Replay recorded material by date and time.

IP (Internet Protocol) cameras come with a wide variety of features to choose from, including weather resistance, degree of lens angle, night watch, and remote PZT (pan/zoom/tilt). Small, powerful cameras can be installed without compromising home aesthetics. Dome cameras can be discreetly placed, making them hard to see. Motion detection can trigger alerts and video recording. Live images can be sent to digital recorders and smart phones.

Cameras can be used to keep watch over children as they sleep and play; to keep an eye on aging family members, or family members who may need medical assistance; and to monitor the care of loved ones provided by others. Use outdoor-rated cameras to monitor groundskeepers, deliveries and home service providers. Install a system to watch over your boat slip or vacation home.

UGuardU provides a variety of camera products and video recording solutions. Visit our web site at www.uguardu.com to learn more. Let us help you keep vigil over your home, property and loved ones from anywhere an internet connection is available.

It is interesting that so many companies believe the way to achieve success is to shoot as many elephants as they can. Elephants mean winning big accounts. Don’t get me wrong, shooting an elephant every now and then is a good thing. You just cannot survive as a business in the State of Oregon waiting for that to happen.

There are a couple of reasons for this. First off, everyone else wants to shoot elephants, so you are now in competition with other very qualified firms who will bid the price of a project down so that your margins are razor thin. As much as winning a large project looks good on your resume, it doesn’t really add to the bottom line. You put a lot of resources into winning a large job; engineering time, and office resources. It also ties up labor resources that you normally use for your everyday customers.

For a small to medium sized company in this state, you are far better off securing medium sized jobs. These types of jobs allow you to keep adding more customers to your base, which will also add to your service work, and of course increase your bottom line.

UGuardU video surveillance system has achieved a 100% reliability factor since the product was released over a year ago.

“Businesses and homes are increasingly using IP cameras to protect property and assets.” said Gabe Authier, Product Manager. “The reliability of our software provides assurance that our product is an effective solution.”

UGuardU offers two product lines, a hosted solution where video is stored by Technocom in the cloud, and the UGuardU Video Recording Solution (UGU VRS) for installations requiring more than four cameras. The UGU VRS is Linux based, runs on a variety of hardware, and can be configured to meet the needs of specific applications.

Technocom CEO Rick McCloskey said, “Our engineers were tasked with developing a product that users could depend on from anywhere an internet connection was available. We are very pleased to announce that we have had no software failures on installed systems.”

Technocom is a single source solutions provider of low voltage cabling, IP phone systems, security systems, audio/visual systems and carrier services for businesses. Technocom also provides residential services including home theater, security systems, electronic controls, and low voltage cabling.

UGuardU is a video recording system developed by Technocom that utilizes IP cameras and the internet to provide surveillance services for businesses and homes. The service allows cameras to be monitored from anywhere an internet connection is available, including mobile devices.
